President Prabowo Subianto intends to establish a special team comprising academics and researchers to bolster the government's strategic policy objectives. This directive was communicated to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, who confirmed the plan to form a task force or working group.

"This team will consist of esteemed professors, lecturers, and researchers from universities and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)," Brian Yuliarto stated following a Science, Technology, and Industry Convention attended by Prabowo in Jakarta on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He explained that the task force's primary role will be to accelerate the government's strategic policy targets across various ministries, ensuring coordination with relevant agencies.

During the same convention, the Head of BRIN, Arif Satria, revealed that the agency is developing a research roadmap in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. This roadmap aims to guide the direction of technological development and industrialization in Indonesia, ensuring it is data-driven and aligned with emerging research trends. "So that our future industrialization is not based solely on common sense, but based on data, projections of what research is developing so that our industry will also survive and remain relevant," Satria added.

The convention, held from June 26-28, 2026, was initiated by President Prabowo and saw participation from 2,600 academics. The President delivered extensive lectures during the event, emphasizing his commitment to leveraging scientific and research expertise for national progress.
