Pregnant Odisha woman found dead in Andhra Pradesh; alleged lover among two arrested

Authorities have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old pregnant woman whose body was discovered in Andhra Pradesh, India. Albina Garada, from Koraput in Odisha, had been missing since July 29.

Albina had been in a relationship with Mohan for nearly a year, with her family learning about the relationship only after an Anganwadi health report indicated that she was around three months pregnant.

Police identified the arrested individuals as Mohan Khilla, 35, identified as Garada's alleged lover, and Milan Kuldeep, 19. They are accused of committing the murder and transporting the body to Andhra Pradesh for burial. Reports indicate Garada and Khilla had been in a relationship for nearly a year, with her family only becoming aware of it after a health report confirmed her pregnancy.

Following the discovery of her pregnancy, Garada disappeared. Khilla initially filed a missing-person report on August 1. However, the subsequent investigation by Semiliguda police, aided by Andhra Pradesh Police, uncovered evidence linking Khilla and Kuldeep to the crime. Clues led investigators to the Gajapathinagaram area of Vizianagaram district, where they recovered partially decomposed remains identified by Garada's father.

Police said their interrogation yielded crucial information related to where Albina's body was buried.

Investigators suspect a domestic dispute may have led to the murder, possibly after Khilla, who is reportedly married twice, faced issues concerning his relationship with Garada. The car allegedly used to transport the body and tools believed to be used for digging the burial site have been seized. Both accused have been remanded to judicial custody pending further investigation and post-mortem examination of the victim.
