Pregnant woman accuses car driver of fleeing after traffic collision

Authorities in Vietnam's Gia Lai province are investigating claims made by a pregnant woman who alleges a car driver fled the scene after a traffic collision. The incident occurred on the evening of August 10th at an intersection in Quy Nhon city.

The woman, identified as N.T.T., 37, who is 32 weeks pregnant, reported that she was riding her motorcycle to pick up her son from school when her vehicle collided with a car. She stated that after the impact, the car driver got out but then attempted to leave the scene. Bystanders intervened and prevented the driver from leaving until authorities arrived.

N.T.T. recounted that she was fortunate the car did not run over her after she fell. She is currently under medical observation at Quy Nhon Hospital. While initial examinations showed no immediate abnormalities with the fetus, doctors recommended continued monitoring due to the recent trauma. N.T.T. also suggested the driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.

She has publicly stated her desire for a thorough investigation by the authorities, emphasizing that she is not seeking a settlement or an apology. Instead, she wants the person responsible to be held accountable for their actions. N.T.T. urged those involved not to attempt contact or use intermediaries, but to allow the official investigation process to conclude.
