Pregnant Woman's Suspected Killer, Who Lived with Victim's Ex-Partner's Family, Reveals Details

The investigation into the disappearance and suspected murder of María Camila Potosí, a 21-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant, has intensified in Cali, Colombia. Potosí vanished on July 16 from her home in the Polvorines neighborhood, leaving her family in deep distress as they awaited the arrival of her daughter, Alahia, due in August.

Her parents, Alba Ruby Gómez and Alexánder Potosí, initially searched for their missing daughter in their neighborhood. Their anguish deepened upon learning that she had been murdered and her body discovered near the Meléndez River, along Kilometer 3 of the La Buitrera corregimiento.

During the search, a woman identifying herself as Yulieth approached the Potosí family. She claimed to have been the motorcycle passenger driven by a woman on July 16, the day María Camila disappeared. However, a cousin of the victim noted that Yulieth appeared nervous and sweated profusely when questioned about her involvement.

Further investigation, including surveillance footage, revealed an Afro-descendant woman with dark braided hair driving the motorcycle. This woman, identified as Yulieth, had been residing with the Rincón Zamorano family, who are connected to Potosí's ex-partner, Carlos Rincón. Yamileth Zamorano, the ex-mother-in-law of the suspected woman, stated that Yulieth had been living with them, claiming to be pregnant with Carlos's child. Carlos Rincón has since stated he believes he was deceived by Yulieth, who transported María Camila that fateful day. The family is now urgently appealing to the justice system for a swift resolution and the recovery of María Camila's unborn baby.
