President Lee arrives in France for three-night, five-day visit including Lumière Summit

President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Nice on the 6th for a three-night, five-day visit to France centered on the Lumière Summit, an international gathering on the film and video industry.

The presidential aircraft arrived at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport at about 5 p.m. local time. Nice Mayor Éric Ciotti welcomed Lee and his wife at the airport and presented the president with a commemorative medal. Lee shook hands with those gathered to greet him and spoke briefly while holding the medal.

On the day after his arrival, Lee will attend the Lumière Summit as co-chair with French President Emmanuel Macron. From the 8th, he will spend two days in Paris for bilateral engagements.

Lee and Macron are scheduled to hold a private luncheon attended only by the two leaders at the Élysée Palace, followed by an expanded summit meeting with delegations from both countries. Discussions are expected to cover cooperation in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, space, nuclear power and biotechnology, as well as greater exchanges among young people and in science and technology. Views on the deployment of forces to the Strait of Hormuz are also expected to be exchanged.
