President Prabowo attends 79th National Cooperative Day, stresses role in economy

Thousands gathered at the Indonesia Arena in Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, to celebrate the 79th National Cooperative Day, an event graced by President Prabowo Subianto. Themed "Empowered Cooperatives, Victorious Indonesia," the celebration underscored the government's dedication to bolstering the cooperative movement as a vital component of national economic strategy.

President Prabowo articulated the significance of cooperatives, stating that national economic strength should not solely rely on large corporations but also on the growth of healthy, modern cooperatives capable of enhancing member welfare. He affirmed the government's commitment to reinforcing cooperatives as a cornerstone of national economic development, aiming for equitable distribution of prosperity.

The event served as more than just an annual commemoration; it was a platform for cooperative activists from across the nation to share experiences, expand networks, and reinforce their optimism about the continued relevance of cooperatives amidst evolving economic challenges. The launch of the "Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih" (Village/Sub-district Cooperatives Red and White) was also a key moment, intended to strengthen community economies at the village level.
