President Prabowo Requested Nanik for Supervisory Role at National Nutrition Agency, Minister Says

Minister Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi has addressed the possibility of Nanik Sudaryati Deyang heading the National Nutrition Agency's (BGN) Supervisory Board, stating it stems directly from a request by President Prabowo Subianto. Hadi explained that Nanik's extensive experience is deemed valuable for assisting the BGN.

Regarding the absence of a "Supervisory Board" position in the official BGN structure, Hadi suggested that the terms "Steering Committee" or "Supervisory Board" could be functionally equivalent, emphasizing that the role's duties are the primary concern. Current regulations, including Presidential Regulation No. 83 of 2024, outline the BGN leadership structure as a Steering Committee, Head, and Deputy Head, without a formal Supervisory Board.

The discussion about Nanik potentially leading a supervisory body arose following her announcement of resignation as Head of BGN. She cited a need to focus on her heart condition treatment. In a social media post, Nanik claimed President Prabowo had asked her to take on the role of Chairperson of the Supervisory Board, a position she believed she could manage alongside her medical treatments, provided it did not involve financial responsibilities.

Nanik's resignation from her post as Head of BGN was attributed to her focus on ongoing medical care for her heart condition.
