Presidential donated cow for Yogyakarta residents slaughtered at Giwangan facility

Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo personally supervised the ceremonial slaughter of a large cow, a donation from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, at the Giwangan Animal Slaughterhouse. The significant contribution, a cow weighing more than a ton, is earmarked for distribution to residents in the Kampung Gemblakan Bawah and other communities along the Kali Code riverbanks.

We have allocated this presidential donation to areas that are indeed in great need. In Yogyakarta city, there are villages that are somewhat isolated, a bit further in, Gemblakan Bawah, east of Malioboro. I believe many people there are in great need of receiving sacrificial meat.

Mayor Wardoyo emphasized that the donated beef is intended for those most in need within the city, specifically mentioning the Gemblakan Bawah area, located east of Malioboro, as a community with many residents requiring assistance. He estimated that the meat from the single cow could provide for hundreds of families, potentially between 200 to 300 households.

During his visit, the mayor also focused on ensuring that the slaughtering process adhered to proper procedures, with a particular emphasis on managing the resulting waste. He confirmed that he had previously inspected the blood disposal systems at the facility, ensuring that waste is channeled correctly and does not contaminate the environment. Mayor Wardoyo urged the public and mosque committees involved in animal sacrifices outside of designated slaughterhouses to maintain environmental cleanliness and manage waste responsibly, noting the substantial number of animals being sacrificed in Yogyakarta during Eid al-Adha.

I have checked here two or three times. For me, blood waste must not go anywhere. So when one came out earlier, it didn't go in, and there is a channel, there is a containment. The most important thing here is that we control the waste processing.
