Presidents of Uzbekistan, United States hold phone call

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and US President Donald Trump engaged in a phone conversation on August 7 to discuss the deepening strategic partnership between their nations. The call focused on strengthening economic cooperation and addressing key international matters.

During the discussion, President Mirziyoyev reiterated his congratulations to President Trump on the 250th anniversary of US independence. President Trump, in turn, acknowledged the "unprecedented level" of Uzbek-American relations and the establishment of a "close and trusting dialogue" between the leaders.

Both presidents noted the consistent implementation of prior agreements and explored avenues for further enhancing their strategic alliance. They commended the robust momentum in bilateral contacts, which now encompass nearly all areas of cooperation. Discussions also touched upon the three-year Economic Cooperation Program and preparations for the inaugural US-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council meeting.

The conversation highlighted the positive impact of visa-free travel for US citizens in expanding business ties. Joint projects are underway in diverse sectors, including civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. The leaders also emphasized the importance of global security and peaceful conflict resolution.

Concluding the call, President Mirziyoyev formally invited President Trump to make an official visit to Uzbekistan at his convenience, signaling a continued commitment to high-level engagement.
