Prevc and Vodan to compete in the Continental Cup

Slovenia's ski jumping teams have 74 days to complete their preparations for winter, and both squads say their work has so far followed plan. The teams presented their programs at the end of the summer, led by the standout figures of the previous winter, Nika and Domen Prevc.

The men's team spent more time abroad, including technical training in Lillehammer, where the winter season will begin. The women's team trained more often at home, but also worked in Innsbruck, the venue for their first New Year's tournament. Training at Planica started somewhat later because its landing area is being renovated, yet the national team leadership said nearby facilities allowed the planned sessions to go ahead.

Women's coach Jurij Tepeš said the team had deliberately trained at hills where it will compete during winter. Innsbruck and Bischofshofen are new additions to that preparation program. Some of the women, including Nika Prevc and Nika Vodan, will enter the Continental Cup, while others will compete in the Summer Grand Prix. The team also plans training by the sea in October before turning fully toward winter.

Men's coach Robert Hrgota said the foundation was good, although each athlete still had details to refine. The skiers will continue competing through the end of summer before completing their final preparations at home.

Domen Prevc, the best jumper of the previous winter, said he welcomed his sponsorship commitments and remained focused on the next season. "From next season, a lot will undoubtedly be expected of me, and I also have high expectations," he said. He added that the team had already identified areas for improvement and had made a good start.
