Privatization authority explains motorway and bridge plans: priority is improving service quality

Turkey's Privatization Administration has sought to clarify what the inclusion of certain motorways and bridges in the privatization program means.

The administration said the work concerns a model based on transferring operating rights for a limited period. Ownership of the public assets would remain with the state under that model.

It therefore characterized the process as different from an outright sale of public assets. The administration said the priority was to raise service quality.
