Projects with violations must be strictly handled

Serious violations have been uncovered in numerous projects within Lâm Đồng province's key tourist areas, including the Tuyền Lâm Lake National Tourist Area and the Damb'ri Waterfall Tourist Area. The Lâm Đồng Inspectorate's findings reveal significant project delays, with some projects dragging on for as long as 17 years. These prolonged delays have resulted in the wasteful use of land and forest resources, hindering local and business development opportunities.

Among the notable issues identified are projects where land was allocated or leased without proper public bidding, as required by regulations. Additionally, many construction projects were built without permits, sometimes encroaching on forest land. Project developers have also been slow in fulfilling their financial obligations, leading to arrears in land and forest lease payments.

The Thanh Niên newspaper highlights that these widespread violations have persisted for years without timely detection or resolution, pointing to shortcomings in state management, potentially indicating negligence. The concern now is that inspection conclusions might not lead to swift action, with resolutions being delayed or merely symbolic.

Lâm Đồng Provincial People's Committee is directing a review of the Tuyền Lâm Lake National Tourist Area's planning to assess projects that are no longer viable. Violating projects are to be decisively handled according to regulations, with revocation considered if justified. For projects allowed to continue, developers must fully meet financial obligations, rectify all violations, and adhere to their committed timelines. Crucially, accountability for these violations must be clearly assigned to specific agencies and individuals involved in their implementation.
