Prosecutors Issue New Probe Orders for Ex-Deputy AG in Corruption Cases

Prosecutors in Indonesia have issued new investigation orders concerning former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, in relation to corruption and money laundering cases. Anang Supriatna, head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General's Office, confirmed that three investigation orders have been issued.

These orders pertain to alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Krakatau Steel, corruption at a State Electricity Company (PLN) power plant that caused a blackout in Sumatra, and corruption at PT Asabri. The investigation orders were issued on July 13, 2026, and Febrie Adriansyah is currently considered a witness in these cases, with the investigation still in its general phase.

Supriatna emphasized that the investigation into these three cases is now fully under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General's Office, following the handover from the police. A special team of nine senior prosecutors, separate from the Jampidsus team, has been formed to re-examine the investigation results previously conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission of the National Police and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The special team will consider the police's findings as part of their review.
