Prosecutors Seek Detention for Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit in Multi-Province Operation

Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit faces a detention request from prosecutors following his arrest in a coordinated operation across four provinces. The operation, launched by the Seferihisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has seen a total of 25 individuals detained.

Yiğit was transferred to the Seferihisar Courthouse after a health check at Seferihisar State Hospital. His statement to prosecutors has been completed, and the request for his detention has been submitted to the court. The prosecutor's office is also seeking the detention of Doğuş Bayır, a member of the Güzelbahçe and İzmir Metropolitan Municipal Council, who was brought to the courthouse with Yiğit.

Among those detained were Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin, Seferihisar Municipality Deputy Mayors Nuriye Hepterlikçi and İnanç Karabulut. However, a contractor identified as E.A., who was brought in with Yiğit and Bayır, was released after his statement to the prosecutor.
