PRP Clears Donald Duke as Presidential Candidate for 2027 Elections; Fields 420 Candidates

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared former Cross River governor Donald Duke to run as its presidential candidate in Nigeria's 2027 general elections. This decision follows the review and approval of the Primaries Appeal Committee's report by the party's National Working Committee (NWC).

Muhammed Ishaq, the PRP's National Publicity Secretary, announced in Abuja that the NWC also upheld the outcomes of four other primary elections, covering governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and state Houses of Assembly positions. The party confirmed it will present a total of 420 candidates across all elective offices for the upcoming elections.

An exception was made for the Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano, where the primary election was nullified. All other candidates have been cleared to participate in the 2027 polls. Ishaq reiterated the PRP's dedication to active participation in the electoral process and its commitment to fielding a comprehensive slate of candidates.

The PRP emphasized its adherence to the principles of internal democracy and service. The party aims to provide credible and transformative leadership for the country, signaling its intentions for the upcoming electoral contest.
