PSG confirms return of Lucas Digne on three-year deal

Lucas Digne is back at Paris Saint-Germain, signing a three-year deal with the club from Aston Villa. The 33-year-old French international previously played for PSG between 2013 and 2015 before moving on to Roma, Barcelona, Everton, and Aston Villa. Digne expressed his excitement about rejoining the club, stating, "I am particularly impressed by the evolution the club has undergone in recent years. I can't wait to start this new chapter and bring all my experience to the team." At PSG, Digne is expected to be the primary backup for left-back Nuno Mendes. This role was not clearly filled in the previous season. Digne's arrival marks PSG's second summer signing, following Maghnes Akliouche. The club also acquired young Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni. Digne, who has 64 international caps for France and played in the 2026 World Cup, will wear the number 12. He could make his debut against his former club, Aston Villa, in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday in Salzburg, Austria.
