Tour de France Femmes: Demi Vollering wins second title after thrilling final stage

Demi Vollering has claimed her second Tour de France Femmes title, dominating the final stage on Sunday in Nice. The 29-year-old Dutch rider for FDJ United-Suez showcased her strength by attacking her closest rival, Kasia Niewiadoma, on the final climb of the Col d'Eze before soloing to her third stage victory of the race. This win adds to her 2023 triumph and follows recent second-place finishes in 2024 and 2025. Vollering's victory marks a significant achievement, especially after the withdrawal of French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, who abandoned the race before the penultimate stage. "It's a dream to win this Tour. But more than anything, it's a dream to live this life. I never imagined experiencing this on a bike," Vollering stated after crossing the finish line. She added, "I wanted to win with this yellow jersey. I never doubted this week, even after Kasia's win at Ventoux. I knew my level." In the final general classification, Vollering finished 1 minute and 18 seconds ahead of Niewiadoma. Italian rider Elisa Longo Borghini secured third place, overtaking Switzerland's Marlen Reusser, who crashed during the race. French rider Cédrine Kerbaol finished as the first French competitor in sixth place.
