PUNB's performance commendable in implementing bumiputera agenda: Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim lauded Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) as a standout agency in advancing bumiputera development, highlighting its effective execution of agendas and strong collaboration with other bumiputera organizations.

"They implement (bumiputera empowerment) well; if they do well, we will increase (financing)," Anwar stated at the SParK 2026: Business Transformation program. He emphasized PUNB's focused approach and cooperation with other bumiputera agencies.

Marking its 35th anniversary, PUNB unveiled its strategic plan, SParK 2026, aiming to approve RM2.25 billion in financing from 2026 to 2030. This initiative seeks to boost bumiputera company growth, enhance commercial scalability, generate quality employment, and strengthen national supply chains.

To support entrepreneurs facing operational costs, working capital needs, and market competition, PUNB is refining its existing financing facilities like Prosper Grow, Prosper Great, and Prosper Impact/Nova. Additionally, the agency has reduced the Prosper Grow financing rate to as low as 3.5% per year.
