Pupuk Indonesia seeks more accurate distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Takalar

PT Pupuk Indonesia is tightening the administration of subsidized fertilizer distribution in Takalar, South Sulawesi, with the stated aim of ensuring that eligible farmers receive supplies according to their needs.

The company organized a Pilar Tani forum to evaluate administrative procedures and explain distribution policies. Wisnu Ramadhani, Regional CEO 4 of PT Pupuk Indonesia, said availability alone was not enough. Distribution also had to ensure the right recipient, quantity, location, timing, price, product type and quality.

Pupuk Indonesia is committed to ensuring the availability of subsidized fertilizer so that farmers can obtain fertilizer according to their needs in every planting season. However, this availability must be accompanied by proper distribution governance, so that the fertilizer is truly received by eligible farmers at the right time, in the right quantity, place, price, type and quality.

The forum covered recipient data, redemption procedures, transaction records and distribution monitoring under new rules issued by the Agriculture Ministry’s Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. The rules concern distribution from the handover point to farmers and the technical management of subsidized fertilizer for the 2026 budget year.

Takalar had received an allocation of 31,776 tonnes through August 2026. Farmers had redeemed 15,286 tonnes, or around 48% of the allocation. Pupuk Indonesia described the absorption level as fairly good but said orderly administration and oversight remained necessary. The company emphasized the “7 Rights” principle: the right recipient, type, quantity, time, price, place and quality.

Every transaction must be accountable and supported by consistent data, from farmer records and redemption transactions to their documentation. If problems or discrepancies arise in the field, they must be communicated and resolved together promptly so they do not disrupt the accurate distribution of fertilizer to farmers.
