Put party interest first – NPP East London Secretary Richard Agyare appeals ahead of electoral area elections

Richard Agyare, the NPP East London Chapter Secretary and a candidate for chairman, has called on party members to put the party's interests first during the ongoing internal elections. Speaking ahead of the electoral area elections scheduled from June 10 to June 15, 2026, Agyare stressed the importance of unity and peace within the party.

"Let's put aside our personal interests and consider the party interest first," Agyare stated, echoing a message from earlier polling station elections. He urged members to avoid quarrels, voter apathy, and "unhealthy politics," advocating for dialogue and respect for the party's grievance channels. Agyare expressed his commitment to supporting the Offinso South constituency with social amenities, highlighting the constituency's success in conducting peaceful internal elections.

I re-echo my call during the polling station elections that let peace reign as party faithful. Our common cause is that our flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia leads us back into power in 2028. Let's put aside our personal interests and consider the party interest first.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party has inaugurated its standing committees, including Finance, Electoral Affairs, National Disciplinary, Political Strategy and Policy, Organisation, Research, and Communications committees. This move signifies the party's dedication to rebuilding its institutional framework and preparing for the 2028 general elections following their defeat in 2024. These committees are expected to bolster operations, governance, research, communications, and electoral preparedness.
