Quaest poll: Marina and Derrite at 14%, Tebet at 12% in São Paulo Senate race

Former minister Marina Silva and federal lawmaker Guilherme Derrite lead the race for São Paulo’s two Senate seats, according to a Quaest poll released Tuesday. Both received 14% of voting intentions.

They are technically tied with former minister Simone Tebet, who received 12%. The figures represent total votes, combining respondents’ first and second choices because voters will elect two senators.

André do Prado, president of the São Paulo state legislature, followed with 7%, while federal lawmaker Ricardo Salles received 3%. Twenty-six percent of respondents were undecided, and 19% said they would cast blank or invalid ballots or would not vote.

The previous poll, released on Aug. 25, put Derrite and Marina at 12%, Tebet at 11%, André do Prado at 7% and Salles at 4%. Five other candidates received 1% each: Geraldo Rufino, Soninha Francine, Maíra de Souza, Dra. Eliana Ferreira and Guto Schiavetto. Five additional candidates recorded no support.

Quaest interviewed 1,800 people aged 16 or older between Sept. 4 and 7. The poll has a margin of error of two percentage points in either direction and a 95% confidence level. It was registered with Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court under number SP-00959/2026 and commissioned by the Globo group.
