Quaest poll puts Raquel Lyra at 43% and João Campos at 37% in Pernambuco

Raquel Lyra leads João Campos by six percentage points in the first-round race for governor of Pernambuco, according to a Quaest poll released Tuesday. The governor, from the PSD, received 43% of voting intentions, while the former mayor of Recife and PSB candidate received 37%.

Ivan Moraes of PSOL and Renan Hallais of Missão each received 1%. Professora Camila, Victor Assis, Guilherme Fonseca and Professor Jeremias do Banco did not register support. Twelve percent of voters were undecided, while 6% said they would cast blank or invalid ballots or would not go to the polls.

The previous Quaest poll, released on Aug. 25, gave Lyra 44% and Campos 36%. In the spontaneous survey, which did not show candidate names, Lyra remained at 33%, while Campos rose one percentage point to 24%. Undecided voters accounted for 40%, and 3% said they would vote blank or invalid.

Campos also had the higher rejection rate. Forty percent of voters said they knew him and would not vote for him, compared with 34% for Lyra. Renan Hallais had a 16% rejection rate, followed by Ivan Moraes at 12%.

In the Senate contest, Marília Arraes of PDT led numerically with 17%, ahead of Humberto Costa of PT at 14% and Mendonça Filho of PL at 11%. Eduardo da Fonte had 7% and Túlio Gadêlha 4%. Blank and invalid votes totaled 18%, while 27% were undecided. Quaest interviewed 1,302 Pernambuco voters from Sept. 4 to 7. The poll is registered with Brazil's Superior Electoral Court under PE-00285/2026 and was commissioned by Globo.
