Racing Club officially signs Matías Pérez from Cerro Porteño

Racing Club has officially announced the acquisition of Matías Damián Pérez, a 27-year-old defender who joins the Argentine club from Cerro Porteño. Pérez had established himself as a standout player for the Paraguayan club.

The defender, born in Argentina but holding Paraguayan nationality, moves to Avellaneda to join the squad managed by Juan Pablo Vojvoda. This transfer represents a significant financial operation for Cerro Porteño.

Racing Club confirmed the terms of the deal through its official channels, stating, "Matías Pérez is the club's new footballer. Racing acquired all the federative and economic rights. The player signed a contract with the club until December 2030. Welcome, Mati!"

Details of the transfer were confirmed by Cerro Porteño's president, Blas Reguera. The operation amounted to $2.9 million for 100% of the player's rights, to be paid in four installments. This influx of funds strengthens Cerro Porteño's financial standing, despite the departure of a key player.
