Rafał Trzaskowski: No Politicians on Southern Hospital's Supervisory Board

Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has assured that politicians will be excluded from the supervisory board of the Southern Hospital, following revelations of alleged irregularities. The city is currently conducting an audit into the hospital's emergency department, focusing on a suspected unofficial system of preferential patient treatment that operated outside established protocols.

Trzaskowski addressed concerns about the alleged VIP treatment, stating that initial findings suggest no official VIP room existed at the emergency department. Instead, the investigation is examining the use of certain premises by Dawid Kacprzyk, a former coordinator at the hospital. Reports indicate Kacprzyk may have improperly used a space belonging to the hospital's Spine Surgery Center.

According to my current knowledge, there was no official preferential treatment pathway at the emergency department; it was an arbitrary mechanism created outside standard procedures, which is why this thread is being investigated in the audit.

The controversy intensified with media reports alleging that Dawid Kacprzyk, a former coordinator at the Southern Hospital and a local councilor, earned approximately 1.6 million Polish zloty last year during his anesthesiology specialization. Furthermore, it was reported that politicians from the Civic Coalition (KO) allegedly received preferential treatment, bypassing queues at the department he managed. Kacprzyk has since resigned from his political positions and repaid half a million zloty to the hospital, having corrected numerous invoices.

Based on current information, it appears that Mr. Kacprzyk was simply invoking his connections. It looks like he was trying to use them to build his position, and that is absolutely unacceptable.
