Real Madrid Loans Argentine Star Franco Mastantuono to Fiorentina

Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono will spend the upcoming season on loan at Italian club Fiorentina, as announced by Real Madrid on Friday. The deal will see the young talent play for the Serie A side until June 30, 2027.

Mastantuono, who turns 19 on August 14, arrived in Florence on Thursday to finalize his move. He was greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic 'viola' supporters eager to welcome the promising player from Buenos Aires.

Real Madrid acquired Mastantuono in June 2025, coinciding with his 18th birthday. The Spanish giants paid River Plate €63.2 million for his services. He made his debut for the club on August 19 in a 1-0 victory against Osasuna.

During the 2025-2026 season, Mastantuono featured in 35 matches for Real Madrid, accumulating 1,484 minutes on the field. He started in 17 of those games and contributed three goals across all competitions. His loan spell at Fiorentina represents the next step in his development.

Fiorentina was previously a preseason opponent for Real Madrid, facing off in a friendly last Saturday. However, Mastantuono was not part of the squad for that match, with manager Jose Mourinho opting not to include him.
