Regularity-CVAP: San Ignacio Rally finishes successfully

About 32 crews took part in the San Ignacio Rally, completing two days of routes through southern Paraguay in the fourth round of the National Regularity Championship for antique, classic and sports vehicles.

The event began Saturday in Villeta, where the crews started the first stage toward the south. They stopped in Pilar before continuing to San Ignacio Guasu. The route combined regularity competition, navigation, history and culture, as well as the camaraderie traditionally associated with the Club of Antique Vehicles of Paraguay, or CVAP.

Participants also visited MUVA, the Viedma Museum dedicated to Guaraní-Jesuit art and heritage. On Sunday, the rally resumed from San Ignacio for its second stage and ended in Quiindy after another day of precision driving and navigation.

Jacques and Sergio Balansa finished first in the overall classification, followed by Pilar García and Eduardo González in second and Esteban Gauto and Michael Meier in third. The same crews filled the top three places in the Odometer Class.

In Class B, Tony Ruiz and Guillermo Salsamendi won, ahead of Juan Carlos Salazar Yaryes and Bettina Torres, with Roberto Daher and Carmelo Olmedo third. Javier and Bernardo Meza won Class C, while Stefanía and Sebastián Grassi led Class D. Karl Heinz Toews and Alfred Hildebrand won Class E, and Óscar Weiler and Diego Ugarte finished first in OL and C. The Class D results were listed as provisional.
