Relations between Bersatu and Pas in Perlis are good, problems stem from former Menteri Besar group

Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah has asserted that the relationship between the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (Bersatu) and the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (Pas) in the state remains cordial. He pinpointed a specific group of former Menteri Besars as the source of any existing friction.

Abu Bakar further clarified that his personal interactions with the Perlis Pas state committee, including its three division chiefs and wing leaders, are without issue. He stated that the criticisms and attacks he has faced recently have exclusively come from the aforementioned group of former state leaders.

This statement comes amidst ongoing political dynamics within the coalition government, where maintaining unity among component parties is crucial. Abu Bakar's remarks aim to reassure the public and party members about the stability of the state government and the strength of the Bersatu-Pas alliance in Perlis.
