Republika Honors Best Performers in Islamic Economy at 2026 Awards

Republika is hosting the 2026 Sharia Awards (ASR) to recognize individuals and institutions driving the growth of Indonesia's sharia economy. This year's theme, "Sharia for All: Beyond Profit, Toward Purpose," highlights that the sharia economy aims for more than just business growth, focusing on broader societal benefits and sustainability.

Andi Muhyiddin, Republika's Editor-in-Chief, explained that the theme underscores the sharia principle of balancing business success with social responsibility and community welfare. The ASR serves as a platform to appreciate those who have not only achieved excellent performance but also introduced innovations, expanded inclusivity, and made tangible contributions to developing Indonesia's sharia economic ecosystem.

"The Sharia Awards Republika is a form of appreciation for the drivers who have proven that the sharia economy can deliver real benefits to society and the national economy," Muhyiddin stated on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).

The judging process involved an independent jury from Karim Consulting Indonesia. Additionally, the Reader's Choice award engaged the public through online polls on Republika.co.id and its social media channels from May 15 to June 15, 2026, gathering 27,414 votes, an increase from the previous year. Republika hopes these awards will encourage stakeholders to continue innovating and strengthening the sharia economic ecosystem for the benefit of all.

The awards ceremony celebrated achievements across various categories, including Best Performance Islamic Banking for PT Bank BCA Syariah, Excellence in Islamic Banking Literacy and Inclusion for PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk, and Outstanding Achievement in Islamic Finance Leadership for PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Other winners included PT Bank Jago Tbk for Best Performance in the Islamic Business Unit category and PT Bank BJB Syariah for Best Performance in the Regional Development Bank category.
