A commercial bus belonging to GUO Transport Company became the target of a violent attack by suspected kidnappers on Sunday evening, leading to the death of the driver and the abduction of three passengers. The Edo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a tragic incident that occurred on April 18, 2026, at about 18:00hrs along the Lagos–Benin Express Road within the Iguobazuwa axis.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, the Edo State Police Command demonstrated commendable swiftness. A rescue operation was initiated, leading to the successful extrication of one female passenger who had sustained gunshot injuries. She is currently receiving medical attention and, thankfully, is responding positively. However, the confirmation that three other passengers were taken into the bush by the assailants highlights the urgency and complexity of the ongoing rescue mission.

Preliminary reports indicate that a commercial bus belonging to GUO Transport Company, with registration number FA 280 YJ, conveying five persons, was attacked by unknown armed men suspected to be kidnappers.
