Responding to International Dog Day, Chen Pin-an Proposes '6 Major Actions' to Build Miaoli into a Pet-Friendly City

Responding to "International Dog Day" on August 26, Chen Pin-an, a candidate for Miaoli County magistrate, unveiled a six-point plan to foster a more pet-friendly environment. The proposals aim to integrate pets and ecology into the county's protection efforts.

Key initiatives include establishing dedicated pet parks in the northern and southern regions of Miaoli, as well as designating specific areas in existing parks for pets. Chen also plans to enhance safety by forming a cross-departmental task force with police, agricultural, and environmental units to strictly investigate the use of animal traps. Furthermore, severe animal abuse and illegal breeding cases would result in lifetime bans on pet ownership.
