Retired Police Officer Shoots Three Neighbors in Turkey After Dispute

Tensions flared in Edirne's Keşan district when a retired police officer opened fire on three neighbors following an escalating dispute. The incident took place in the courtyard of an apartment building in the Yeni Mahalle Belkoop area. The former officer, identified as M.K., reportedly had a prior conflict with the victims, A.K., his wife İ.K., and their child C.K. After the argument intensified, M.K. went to his home to retrieve a handgun. He returned to the scene and fired shots at the family. Responding officers from the Keşan District Police Department fired warning shots into the air to de-escalate the situation. A.K., C.K., and İ.K. sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Keşan State Hospital for treatment. A.K.'s condition is reported as serious. The retired officer was arrested at the scene with his weapon, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched.
