Olympiad champion Darja Varfolomeev has made a promising start to the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships held in Frankfurt, Germany. Despite a brief moment of confusion at the beginning of her routine, Varfolomeev captivated the home crowd with two powerful performances.

Despite this unusual start, she maintained her composure and delivered a flawless performance, temporarily placing her second behind Israel's Daniela Munits.
