In an effort to combat rising prices and ensure access to essential goods, the Riau Provincial Inflation Control Team (TPID), in collaboration with BUMD PT Riau Pangan Bertuah, has launched a series of "cheap market" events. These initiatives, spread across five strategic locations in Pekanbaru and Kampar Regency, are a proactive measure to stabilize the local economy and alleviate the burden on consumers.

The program, which commenced on Monday, April 20th, and will continue through Friday, April 24th, offers a range of staple foods at prices designed to be accessible to all. Items such as SPHP rice, Anak Daro and Sokang rice, MinyaKita cooking oil, and various types of salt are available. The organizers have emphasized the importance of orderly conduct during the market days and have encouraged the public to bring their own shopping bags to minimize plastic waste, reflecting a commitment to both economic stability and environmental consciousness.
