Riau Police Send 60 Tons of Aid to NTT Disaster Victims

Polda Riau, along with the Bhayangkari Daerah Riau organization, has dispatched approximately 60 tons of humanitarian aid to support communities affected by natural disasters in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The significant aid shipment departed from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, on Wednesday.

Officials, including Kombes Imran Amir representing the Riau Police Chief, oversaw the departure of the aid, which was loaded onto three trucks, each carrying about 20 tons. This assistance is designated for residents in the regencies of Ende, Nagekeo, East Manggarai, and Manggarai.

Kombes Imran Amir emphasized that the distance between Riau and NTT does not hinder their commitment to mutual assistance. "At the direction of the Riau Police Chief, we are sending this aid as a form of care and solidarity for our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster," he stated. The aid package comprises essential items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, bottled water, milk, instant noodles, ready-to-eat meals, plastic mats, blankets, tarpaulins, sanitary pads, and baby supplies.

"The total aid dispatched is around 60 tons. The Police Chief's hope is that all aid arrives safely, is distributed accurately, and truly helps meet the community's needs during the post-disaster handling and recovery period," Imran added. He highlighted that the aid was collected from various Polda Riau work units to support the needs of the affected population. The presence of the police in disaster situations, he noted, extends beyond security to providing essential support to those in need, embodying the spirit of police as humanitarian fighters and builders of civilization.
