Rică Răducanu Hospitalized After Serious Accident on Coast; Suffers Head Injury, Dislocated Shoulder, and Two Fractured Ribs

Rică Răducanu, a celebrated former goalkeeper for Rapid Bucharest, has been urgently hospitalized following a severe accident on the Romanian coast. The 80-year-old football legend was spending his summer by the sea when he fell down a flight of stairs.

The incident left Răducanu with multiple serious injuries. He reported sustaining a blow to the head, a dislocated shoulder, and two fractured ribs. "I have two broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder!" he stated, also mentioning difficulties breathing. He is currently receiving medical care at the Mangalia Municipal Hospital.

"I am not well, I am in the hospital, I fell down the stairs," Răducanu conveyed, his voice strained. "I broke two ribs, I broke my shoulder. I was wearing slippers. I hit my head too, I'm having trouble breathing. The people here are taking care of me, they love me, but I'm not well. I'm sorry I can't talk much, I hope I'll be okay, I just didn't need this!"

Throughout his career, Răducanu played for several prominent Romanian clubs, including Rapid, Sportul Studențesc, and Steaua Bucharest. He won a league title and two Romanian Cups with Rapid, and another Romanian Cup with Steaua, cementing his legacy as one of the country's notable goalkeepers.
