Road accident escalates into family brawl; police fire warning shots

A traffic accident on Romania's DN 7 highway in Crângurile, Dâmbovița, devolved into a violent family brawl, prompting police to fire warning shots. The incident began on August 21st when a car collided with a horse-drawn cart.

The collision injured the 36-year-old female driver of the car, the 44-year-old male cart driver, and a 41-year-old female passenger in the cart. Following the impact, relatives of those involved engaged in a physical altercation.

To restore public order and stop the fight, law enforcement officers discharged two warning shots. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured by the gunfire, nor were there any other damages resulting from its use. The situation required intervention from special forces units.

As a result of the ensuing violence, two young men, aged 19 and 22, have been arrested and placed in pre-trial detention for 30 days. They face charges including threats, assault, property damage, and disturbing public order. A search was conducted at their residences in Argeș county.
