Road construction will take place on Iceland's Ring Road (Route 1), specifically on the Vesturlandsvegur section near Baula and Borgarfjarðarbraut, over the next two evenings. The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration has granted permission for these essential works, provided the weather conditions are favorable.

The construction is set to commence at 8 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday nights, continuing until 7 a.m. the subsequent mornings. Malbikunarfyrirtækið Colas, the paving company responsible for the project, announced the schedule, emphasizing the need for these repairs to maintain the integrity of the roadway.

Drivers using this route should anticipate some traffic delays as vehicles will be guided through the active work zone. Increased signage and information boards will be placed in the area to alert motorists.
