Robert Mastnak, the father and dedicated coach of Slovenian Olympic snowboarder Tim Mastnak, has passed away at the age of 69. His death followed a brief but difficult struggle with cancer, as confirmed by the Slovenian snowboarder through social media.

Tim Mastnak shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing his profound grief over the loss of his "best friend and coach." He reflected on their shared journey, stating, "We won so many battles together. This one we couldn't win." Mastnak vowed that their "M-Team" endeavor would endure as a testament to their bond, concluding with a heartfelt "Love you, Dad."

Beyond his role as a coach, Robert Mastnak was the driving force behind his son's burgeoning career. He managed the family's "M-Team" project, fulfilling multiple essential roles including mechanic, driver, and cook, demonstrating a deep and unwavering commitment to Tim's success.

The funeral for Robert Mastnak is scheduled for Monday, August 31st.
