Brazilian football legends Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo are joining forces with other investors to acquire Internacional de Limeira, a club currently competing in Brazil's third division. Roberto Carlos announced the impending purchase, revealing that he, Ronaldo, and partners Enrico, along with an African and an Arab associate, are finalizing the deal.

Ronaldo and I are now buying Inter de Limeira together with Enrico and two other partners of ours, an African and an Arab.

The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star expressed a desire to reinvest in the interior of Brazilian football. The primary goals are to continue nurturing top talent for the national team and to restructure these clubs. Roberto Carlos specifically mentioned União São João, a club from his youth, as a potential area for future support, aiming to help clubs secure sponsorships and restore the game to its former glory.

Internacional de Limeira, based in São Paulo state, enjoyed its peak in the 1980s, winning the Campeonato Paulista in 1986 and the second division league title in 1988. The club currently leads Serie C of the Brasileirão with 25 points from 14 matches. Founded in 1913, the club's name honors the diverse migrant communities that settled in Limeira.
