Rodrigo Hernández, widely known as Rodri, has officially joined Barcelona on a contract running until June 30, 2030, in a move reportedly worth approximately 60 million euros plus 11 million in variables. Rodri, who arrived in Barcelona on Monday, underwent medical examinations on Tuesday before signing his new contract. He shared that while he is grateful to Manchester City for everything they have given him, his decision to move to Barcelona was driven by sporting motivations. He acknowledged receiving proposals from "very important" clubs but kept the specific details of his decision private.

The midfielder also highlighted the influence of Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick. Rodri said Flick conveyed "enthusiasm" and that he is motivated to train under a coach with a "brave idea" that aligns with his current career stage. At 30 years old, Rodri believes his experience can benefit Barcelona's young squad, mentioning 19-year-old midfielder Marc Bernal as a player who can grow alongside him. He noted the team's significant growth in recent seasons, evident in their LaLiga and Champions League performances, which factored into his decision to join the project.
