Rokiškis tragedy: Man dies after falling from moving car roof

A tragic accident in Rokiškis, Lithuania, has resulted in the death of a young man who fell from the roof of a moving car. The incident occurred when a 21-year-old passenger, born in 1999, climbed onto the roof of the vehicle while it was being driven by a 23-year-old man, born in 2000, who was reportedly intoxicated.

According to reports, the passenger opened the rear window and stood on the car's roof. As the driver braked at an intersection, the young man lost his balance and fell onto the roadway. He sustained severe injuries, including bleeding from the head, and was taken to the hospital, where he died early Sunday morning.

Witnesses described seeing the young man standing on the roof of his friend's car. They reported that he lost his footing as the car turned and fell, hitting his head on the road. Emergency medical services attempted to revive him at the scene.

Rokiškis Mayor Ramūnas Godeliauskas stated that this is the first known incident of such dangerous behavior by young people in the region. An investigation into the violation of road traffic safety rules leading to death has been initiated under Article 281 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code.
