Interim Defense Minister Radu Miruță confirmed that five instances of drone debris were observed and destroyed at sea, with some pieces containing explosives. Four of these incidents occurred before a maritime drone exploded in Constanța Port in June, and one happened afterward, according to News.ro.

He further elaborated on why naval vessels in the military port did not act when a drone passed nearby. Miruță likened the situation to a fire truck parked in a garage; it cannot extinguish a fire miles away if it is not on an active mission. The incident he referenced occurred on June 5, when a maritime drone detonated within Constanța Port, prompting a response from police, gendarmes, and border police. This explosion followed a Russian-made Geran 2 drone crash in Galați in late May, which injured two people and destroyed their apartment.
