Tensions have escalated between Romania and Russia, culminating in the summoning of Romania's charge d'affaires in Moscow to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Liliana Burda was called to provide explanations on Thursday, August 27th, amidst a backdrop of worsening diplomatic ties and recent drone incursions.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the summons to the state news agency TASS, though specific reasons were not immediately provided. This move signifies a new phase in the diplomatic friction between the two nations, which has been exacerbated by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and reported drone activity near Romanian territory.
