Romanian Fuel Prices Hold Steady on August 21

Fuel prices in Romania held steady on Friday, August 21, mirroring the costs of the preceding days. Drivers continue to find the lowest gasoline price at 9.48 lei per liter in Sălaj County. Diesel prices remain above 10 lei per liter across the country. The lowest diesel prices are observed in Timiș, Arad, Bihor, Sălaj, Suceava, Sibiu, and Gorj counties, where a liter costs 10.01 lei. In Cluj, diesel is priced at 10.09 lei per liter, and in Ilfov, it is 10.02 lei.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices fluctuate between 4.59 and 4.64 lei per liter, with the lowest rate recorded in Cluj-Napoca. Between August 18 and 20, the average price for diesel was 10.23 lei per liter. Gasoline prices have been stable at 9.55 lei per liter since August 13.

Diesel prices surpassed the 10-lei mark on July 27, and gasoline exceeded 9 lei per liter starting July 24. Data from Peco Online indicates that, in the past month, the average price of a liter of gasoline has increased by 8.9%. This translates to a 39-lei increase for a 50-liter tank compared to 30 days ago. For diesel, the average price per liter has risen by 6.7%, meaning a 50-liter tank now costs 32 lei more than a month prior.
