Romanian kindergarten teacher recorded terrorizing children with verbal and physical abuse

An investigation is underway at a kindergarten in Pașcani, Iași county, Romania, following serious allegations of verbal and physical abuse against young children by a teacher. Parents reported disturbing behavioral changes in their 4-year-old son, who became anxious, woke up scared, and pleaded not to be hit.

The parents were alarmed by the child's language, which included phrases like "I'll hit you" and "get out," words unfamiliar in their household. Their suspicions were confirmed when they secretly recorded the teacher using a microphone hidden in a teddy bear.

The recordings revealed the teacher's aggressive behavior, including insults like "worm," "handicapped," and "rabid," along with harsh threats such as "may it hurt until you can't stand it anymore." Despite presenting these recordings to the kindergarten's management, the father claims the director attempted to downplay the situation, suggesting they "cover this up so we don't go to the County School Inspectorate."

Following this, the family filed complaints with the County School Inspectorate and a criminal complaint with the police. The issue appears to extend beyond this single case, as other parents have reported their children refusing to enter the classroom out of fear. The Iași County School Inspectorate has stated that the situation is under review and appropriate measures will be taken.
