Romanian parties urged to form government amid economic crisis

Romania's Social Democratic Party (PSD) has issued a strong appeal to all parliamentarians and political leaders, urging them to collaborate constructively to establish a government with full powers. The party emphasizes the urgent need for a stable administration capable of addressing the nation's acute economic and social challenges.

In an official statement, PSD pointed to dire economic indicators, including a national recession, the highest inflation rate in Europe, a ten-month decline in consumption, and accelerating unemployment and public debt. These factors, the party argues, necessitated a change in governance direction and underscore the inability of the current caretaker government to manage the crisis effectively.

The PSD stressed that maintaining a dismissed government with limited authority exacerbates the decline in living standards for all citizens, regardless of their political affiliation. The party called for a collective effort to set aside political rivalries and focus on building a majority that prioritizes citizens' needs and implements concrete economic recovery solutions.
