Romanian Rowers Win World Championship Gold, Set New World Record

Romania's rowing duo, Adriana Adam and Simona Radiș, have captured the gold medal in the women's pair at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. Their dominant performance not only secured the title but also established a new world record, further cementing Romania's strong presence in the sport.

The pair crossed the finish line in 6 minutes, 49 seconds, and 86 hundredths of a second. This remarkable time shattered the previous world record of 6:56.21, which had been held by Great Britain's Helen Glover and Heather Stanning since 2014. France and the United States secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Simona Radiș and Adriana Adam are world champions in the double scull boat. The Romanians managed to cross the finish line first in the final in Amsterdam after a race where their opponents kept pace with them for half the course. Great champions are defined in the last thousand meters, or, more precisely, at the 500m finish. Simona and Adriana rowed at their own pace, the speed was maintained, and at the end, the class of the two closed the standings.

This victory marks a significant achievement for both athletes. For Simona Radiș, it is her sixth senior world championship gold medal. Adriana Adam earns her third world title, with this being her first gold in a small boat after previous successes in the eight-person boat.

In the men's pair event, Romania's Ștefan Constantin Berariu and Florin Sorin Lehaci finished just off the podium in fourth place with a time of 6:24.35. Other Romanian rowers also competed, with Mihai Chiruță advancing to the semifinals in the men's single sculls and Bianca Ifteni competing in the C Final of the women's single sculls.
