Ronaldinho, 46, comes out of retirement to play for Italian club Ravenna

Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho is set to make a surprising comeback to the professional game at the age of 46. The former star of Barcelona and AC Milan has agreed to join Italian Serie C club Ravenna FC, marking his return to competitive play after a decade-long hiatus.

Ronaldinho last played professionally in 2015 for Brazilian club Fluminense. His second stint in Italian football follows his earlier tenure with AC Milan from 2008 to 2011. Beyond his on-field presence, the 2002 World Cup winner is also now part of Ravenna's ownership group as the club pursues an ambitious plan to rebuild its image and attract greater investment and global recognition.

Club owner Ignazio Cipriani confirmed that Ronaldinho will participate in at least one Serie C home league fixture, emphasizing that the arrangement is more than a mere promotional stunt. While his debut date remains unconfirmed and he is not expected for the season opener, Ronaldinho is slated to play a significant role in promoting the club and its broader initiatives.
