Rotary Club to Host District Governor, Showcase Community Impact

Rotary Club of Akowonjo is preparing to welcome District 9111 Governor Rotarian Bukola Bakare and her entourage on August 24, 2026. The official visit is designed to highlight the club's dedication to service, leadership, and lasting community impact.

During the visit, Governor Bakare will engage with the current leadership and members of the Akowonjo club. This interaction aims to foster stronger collaboration and ensure their service priorities align with Rotary International District 9111's vision for the 2026-2027 Rotary year, themed “Create Lasting Impact.”

Led by Impact President Rotarian Oladapo Bankole, the Akowonjo club plans to use this occasion to present its various programs, key priorities, and future plans for creating tangible benefits in the communities they serve. Rotarian Bankole emphasized that the governor's visit is more than a formality; it's an opportunity to reaffirm the club's commitment to service, inspire its members, and demonstrate how collective action can translate Rotary's ideals into real-world advantages.

According to Chairman Planning Committee Rotarian Oyin Sale, the governor's itinerary includes courtesy visits to Alimosho Local Government Executive Chairman Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson and the Alaye of Orisunbare, Oba Akeeb Adebowale Rauf Abokuwa 1. Governor Bakare will also conduct a ward round at Krown Hospital and hold meetings with the board, sponsors, friends of Rotary, and partners.
