Roy Suryo and Dokter Tifa arrive at police HQ for case handover

Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as 'Dokter Tifa,' have arrived at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters to proceed with the second phase of their legal process. The handover to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office is imminent, marking a significant step in the case concerning accusations of spreading false information about Indonesian President Joko Widodo's diploma.

The pair were brought to the police headquarters after receiving medical treatment at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, following their arrest on Friday, June 19. They arrived in a police vehicle around 7:52 AM Western Indonesian Time and were immediately escorted into the detention center at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

Ahmad Khozinudin, the legal representative for Suryo and Tifa, confirmed that their transfer to the police headquarters was to facilitate the handover process. "We are escorting our clients from the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, and today we are at the detention and evidence center. After the complete examination and administration at the detention center, the suspects, evidence, and case files will be brought and handed over to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office," he stated.

Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, explained that the arrest and subsequent transfer are part of the process of handing over suspects and evidence from investigators to the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office. This action follows the prosecutor's declaration that the case files are complete, a status known as P-21. "Subsequently, to ensure the presence and whereabouts of the suspects during the handover process of suspects and evidence proceeds smoothly, investigators must confirm their presence," Iman added.
